Calling all little insect lovers! Where does honey come from? What happens inside a beehive? Here they can touch, squeeze and play with the life cycle components of the Honey Bee from egg to adult bee.
Hardworking honey bees rapidly transition through their life cycle, with only 21 days from egg to adulthood. Bees in the larval stage are fed by workers, and once they go through metamorphosis and become adults, they join the search for nectar and pollen.
Scientific Name: Apis mellifera
Characteristics: Honey bee larvae and pupae, like those of many other insects, are almost unrecognizable compared to adult bees. These realistically sculpted figures allow a peek inside the hive.
Size and Colour: While eggs, larvae, and pupae are almost clear, the honeybee takes on its iconic black and yellow coloration when it emerges from the pupa stage as an adult. The adult bee is about the length of a computer mouse.

Local Pickup:
You are welcome to use this option if you would prefer to collect your order from our warehouse based in Ferndale, Johannesburg. You will receive an email as soon as your order is ready for collection. Collection times are between 09h00 and 16h00 Monday to Friday.
Shipping Rates:
We offer free nationwide delivery on all orders over R750. For orders less than this amount, a nominal flat rate fee of R90 will be charged.
Delivery by courier will take 24 - 72 hours to reach you depending on the area that you live. A guideline as follows:
Johannesburg / Pretoria - next day delivery from dispatch
All other major cities - 2 - 3 days from dispatch
Outlying towns - 3 - 4 days from dispatch
Remote towns - 3 - 5 days from dispatch
A tracking number and estimated day of delivery will be emailed to you once the goods have been dispatched. Customers are responsible for having someone at the delivery address during the day to sign for and accept delivery. Please note our couriers are unable to deliver to a P O Box number.
For customers that live in remote areas (farms etc) or do not have someone available to sign for a courier delivery, we can send your order to a Post Box via the South African Post Office. Please enter your P O Box number and correct postal code on the check-out page and we will send your parcel via economy post and email you a tracking number. Please note this is not a preferred option and your order will take longer to reach you. The recipient of the postal order will be responsible for collecting the order from their local Post Office.
Timeless Toys reserves the right to amend delivery prices for courier deliveries to very remote areas and for extremely heavy or peculiar sized or shaped items. We will always contact you first and will never charge extra without your consent.
If you need something in a hurry, please contact us to arrange a quote for priority courier service, although this will cost extra.

Please select the gift-wrap option on check-out and feel free to leave a short message to the recipient that will be hand-written on a card. When you ship to a different address you can rest assured no invoice or pricing information will be included in the parcel.
When ordering a gift to be sent to a different address please ensure you keep your own name and address as the default billing details and then add the recipient's name, address and contact details on the shipping page at check-out.
