A little problem-solving, a little pouring and plenty of teatime fun. The Tolo Bio Teatime Shape Sorter is a two-in-one toddler toy that combines colour and shape matching with a working toy teapot. Designed for children aged 12 months and older, it offers hands-on discovery now and opportunities for imaginative tea parties as your little one grows.
Four mini teacups fit into their matching openings in the teapot, with colour-coded holes offering a helpful clue. Little hands can explore, turn and try each cup, practising fine motor skills while discovering which shapes fit where. The easy-to-remove lid makes it simple to retrieve the cups and start again.
Colour matching and shape-sorting play:
Share the discovery by naming the colours and inviting your toddler to find the matching cup. Start with one cup at a time, offering gentle hints and encouragement, then introduce more cups as their confidence grows.
Trying different openings gives children opportunities to practise problem-solving, manipulation and hand-eye coordination. There’s no rush to get it right: each attempt is part of learning.
Turn sorting time into teatime:
For a real pouring experience, place the clear beaker inside the teapot and add cool liquid. Enjoy a little tea party together, taking turns to pour and serve while introducing everyday words such as “full”, “empty” and “more”.
It’s a playful way to bring sorting, early learning and shared pretend play together in one toy.
